1872 saw the first official Football International, played between England and Scotland. Then in 1877 the Football Association Challenge Cup was introduced, which even today remains the greatest club knockout competition in the world. The greatest revolution in English football was the formation of the Premier League, won for the first time in 1992-3 by Manchester United who have since dominated the Premier League. However in 2005 Chelaea became champions, with Liverpool winning the Champions League.
