The first recorded cricket match was played in Sussex, England in 1697. Lord's finally found its home in St John's Wood in 1813. The Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), with Lord's as its 'home base', is considered the international cricket authority.
The first ever Test match was played in Melbourne in 1877, between England and Australia. However it was the historic Test match played at The Oval in 1882, between the two great rivals, that established the competition now known as 'The Ashes'.

After England's historic Ashes victory, demand has reached an all-time high for match day hospitality. In 2006 England will play host to Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Just a year before the much anticipated World Cup, this is England's chance to prove their worth against the Asian
